Owner: Broward County Board of County Commissioners
Architect: PGAL Architects
Project Scope:
The West Regional Library project consists of a two-story 74,983 s.f. building and a 75,965 s.f. parking garage. The project is phased to allow the existing library to remain open until the new library and parking garage are completed. Once the old library is demolished a plaza/promenade will be constructed. This plaza will become the western end of a cross town promenade planned by the City of Plantation.
The building will be constructed from tilt up concrete panels adorned with anodized aluminum clad metal panels. Large openings and a clerestory that bisects the building will have a high performance glass curtain wall system to allow maximum natural light while maintaining energy efficiency. The parking garage will be constructed from structural precast concrete panels and tees.
