East River High School

This project consists of a one and two-story high school design of 10 new tilt-up concrete buildings surrounding a courtyard. New construction included a 12,500 SF cafeteria/dining area which serves over 3,500 students and staff and includes a snack bar.  The 144,000 SF courtyard includes outside assembly areas and various planters and landscaping. The remaining buildings house administration, classrooms, art and music rooms, auditorium and gymnasium, and comprises approximately 377,297 SF Work also included extensive renovation, refurbishment and repairs to existing portions of the existing elementary school buildings. This included a complete reconfiguration of spaces to convert the facility to meet high school standards, as well as repairs required to address Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues and code-related concerns. Related drives, parking lots, playing fields, outdoor activity areas and site utilities, along with extensive off-site roadwork and signalization were included also in the project scope.
