Best Diversity Initiative
James A. Cummings, Inc. has created within its infrastructure a department dedicated to diversity. The Department of Diversity Development is charged with the responsibility for cultivating and growing relationships within business and community organizations by promoting the enhancement, expansion, and education of construction business partnerships within the multi-cultural communities of South and Central Florida.
We are continually striving to reach new goals and have made significant progress in the development of our Diversity program. We develop and promote diversity within the myriad of certifications throughout the State of Florida - some of these are:
- Minority Business Enterprise/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE)
- Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (SDBE)
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
- Small Business Administration (SBA)
James A. Cummings, Inc. has won several awards for our commitment to Diversity Development. Recently, we were honored as the South Florida Business Journal Advocate Company of the Year by the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce with the Salute to Business Award which recognizes companies that do the most for women and minority businesses.
In addition, we are proud of winning the South Florida Business Journal’s 2004 Diversity Works Award for Best Company Diversity Initiative as well as being a finalist in the categories of Company Advocate and Individual Advocate for 2004 and 2005.
